GOT SCRATCHES???

You hear a lot of outrageous wave front claims these days... and that’s a shame. Anyone who has manufactured optics knows how important and how difficult it is to maintain high surface quality standards. Surface quality is a direct reflection (no pun intended) on ones skill & attitude towards their work,

You have the right to demand completely polished optics, optics that are as free from scratches as possible. Sure, in any hand figured optic you will most likely have a few minor surface sleeks but you shouldn’t have so many scratches that you’d need a calculator to add them all up. I have seen many optics made by the so called "experts", that not only have wave front errors way worse than advertised (not using interferometry and computer assisted fringe analysis to verify their results) but also have horrific surface quality. If 1/20th wave optics are advertised (an outright lie) then why can’t they deliver optics with high surface quality?
